Marketing can be simply defined as the business of promoting and selling products and services. However, in reality, marketing compasses a much farther reach than simply the selling of products and services, and has come to include a variety of persuasive techniques used in the promoting of ideas, opinions, and much more. The area of concern of this blog involves the various forms of internet marketing (IM), of which failure in has been a widely known problem. Why do so many people fail at internet marketing, and what is the style known as mysterious marketing?

There are some who have been fortunate enough to be born with the blood of a marketer, perhaps due to their parents somehow having been strongly involved in a related field. But for those of us who have not been that well favored, there is a very thin line that holds the difference between our success and failure. We have to work hard, we have to struggle over many obstacles that block our path, and if that weren’t enough, we also need to possess the die-hard determination to never give up until we reach the top. Apart from these points, however, I do believe there is one more thing that does differentiates between those who struggle and fail, and those who persist and succeed, and that is to develop a style and technique of your own.

The Mysterious Marketing Style

It is an undeniable fact that we were all born differently, all brought up differently, all live different lifestyles, and all have different strengths and weaknesses. It is due to this very fact that there is not one ultimate formula that can guarantee our success in a specific subject matter, and that includes internet marketing. That doesn’t mean that following the basics isn’t important, but the way you build upwards upon your foundation will differ from others. Just listening to what people tell us is not enough. In order to survive in the cruel dog-eat-dog world of IM, you have to think for yourself because only you know yourself the best and develop a marketing style that suits and defines you. Only by learning to think for yourself, can you break through the turmoil when marketing storms come.

But do you really know yourself? Your strengths, your weaknesses… Maybe you don’t, and that’s why all this time you have been blindly relying on everything other people say without thinking about how you can best apply it in a way that suits you. For me, my ultimate style of marketing is known as the Mysterious Marketing style, and I do encourage you to develop your own personal style if you want to start rocking the internet marketing world! To give you a brief overview of this particular style of marketing, here are a few characteristics…

1. Stealing from the rich and giving to the poor

There are various classes of internet marketers and one of them is that of ‘the rich’. These include people like Frank Kern, John Reese, and many others who are always having million dollar and billion dollar days. Not saying that they’re bad guys or anything, but they’re rich! So we got to steal from them and give to the poor! =) Attack their markets, get whatever share of it you can, and run!

2. Walking silently and mysteriously

As a mysterious marketer, it’s important to tread silently without leaving foot steps behind for competitors, or even Google, to be able to trace.One must be able to enter a market without anyone else realizing, take all the market share, and then disappear like the wind…

3. Maintain privacy

Mysterious marketing is about maintaining your privacy at all times. The amount of privacy we have can affect the way we act, affect the way we think, and we won’t even realize it. Take note that this is different from ‘ninja marketing’, as mysterious marketing does not require you to kill yourself if you make a mistake.

4. Rejecting Fame and Publicity

Mysterious marketers do not accept trivial things like publicity and fame. They live in mystery and come and go like the wind.

5. Going where no man has gone before

A huge part of mysterious marketing is making the impossible possible, through development of mysterious, new techniques and leaving the market in awe while having fun.

6. Honesty and integrity

Honesty and integrity is an important part of mysterious marketing. Mysterious marketer who lose their sense of truth soon evolve into assassin or blackhat marketers who dwell in the shadows.

7. Sell without selling

The ability to sell without selling is something all mysterious marketers should have. It basically means to persuade the market to buy your goods without them realizing they are being sold to.
