Internet Marketing Success – The Successful Secret Formula?

Internet Marketing Success

Are you going to read this article about internet marketing success because you want to know about the critical factor that many people are missing, and which prevents them from being successful?

Well, I'm writing this post to share the experiences I have been having with that recently… :)

Contrary to what people tell you, internet marketing is truly not an easy thing… It really isn't.

It takes a lot of time, effort, determination, self-discipline, and passion to make it through to the success that you see many people in online marketing experience today.

However, in spite of having all this, many people still fail in their internet marketing efforts…

How come?

What I'm about to say may or may not be applicable to you, but this is an area which I have messed up myself in before. So, first thing, to be successful in internet marketing, one must be…

Willing to be taught…

Actually this is is true for learning anything, but I think it is especially so with internet marketing.

Have you ever bought an IM course, read through it, and never followed what it said exactly to the smallest detail? I'm sure we all have… Sometimes we think to ourselves that we could do it better, or we could try doing it another way, or maybe we could add something to make the technique even better!

The end result is that either we fail miserably, or we end up making the method so overly complicated that we don't even take any action on it because it is too hard. After that, we blame the person teaching us the method, blame our parents for not raising us the right way, and even blame the weather for not being sunny and ruining our mood.

I guess this could be the main reason why children learn much faster than adults. Because they are open to instruction, and willing to learn without any judgmental thoughts.

Having modesty and humility in learning is an important step of success I guess. Not only during the initial stages, but even after becoming successful…

I really need to work more on this myself if I'm going to improve… :(

From what I have noticed, not being willing to follow instruction happens because of a number of reasons. Here are a few of them:

1. Pride. This is a bad thing… I guess that it is the norm in society today that everyone wants to believe that they know better than the next person, but the reality is that no one really knows anything. If you are truly a learned person, then you should realize that  this:

The more you learn, the less you know…

This is reality, and a proper stance to take would be to esteem others as being better than ourselves. To improve oneself, one must be open to instruction.

2. Fear. There are so many things that we are afraid of that prevent us from being able to follow instructions and carrying out methods the way that they should be carried out.

We are afraid of:

  • Failure: Don't be afraid of this. Failure is, in fact, not the opposite of success, but rather a vital component of it.
  • Past Experiences: Perhaps you ran into someone who gave you an online marketing method that never worked and wasted tons of your time and money… It is important to be selective in learning, but once you find something worth learning, then REALLY learn. Don't be half-hearted.
  • Expenses: Some methods require some initial investment and others require a lot of it. The truth is, you either have to spend time or money in this business… Try to find a method that doesn't require you to spend a lot on resources if you are afraid of this, but many times it is unavoidable…

3. Laziness. A lot of the time, it's not that we don't want to follow a method exactly like it is being taught, but we are too lazy and try to find shortcuts. This often leads to a lot of messing up.

Finding shortcuts is a good thing, but make sure that you try out the method as-is at least once first in order to get a feeling of how it really works. Once you are good at it, you can start finding shortcuts then…

So…

This year, I will definitely have to be more willing to learn and to be taught, and follow instructions better… For any and every new internet marketing technique I learn. :)
