The keyword research module helps you to do research on any keyword you desire, and help you to find effective keyword variations or long-tail keywords that you might want to use.
The keywords they draw come mainly from the sources of the Google Synonym Tool in the Google Keyword Tool and the Google Search Keywords Tool. You will be able to select whether you want additional variations on synonyms, or just variations based on the root keyword.
For example, if you input 'magic key', you will be able to ignore additional variations and find variations just based on the root keyword such as 'magic key movie', 'magic key book', etc. Or you can find additional variations, such as 'mystical key', 'amazing mystery unlocker', etc.
There is also the ability to filter keywords by the phrase length. So, let's say that you were looking for a long-tail keyword. You might filter results based on having a minimum length of 4 words, and a maximum length of ten words. You can also filter by positive and negative keywords during the initial stages, that is, the keyword has to have a particular word, or it shouldn't have a particular word.
Once you have generated the keywords you need, you will be able to gather data for those keywords. This data includes the total number of searches a day, the number of search per day for a keyword ranking at the #1 spot in Google, trends, and the phrase-to-broad match which is the closeness of a keyword to exact match.
There is also data based on adwords, competition and commerciality. The adwords data will show you the amount of adwords traffic, the adwords clickthrough rate, as well as the cost per click. By having this data, you will basically be able to see how much people are willing to pay for certain keywords and how good the click-through rate is.
The competition section will give you the number of search results based on the phrase match of your keywords, which are your true competitors, the number of pages with the exact keyword in their title, and the adwords competition as well. You may also export your keywords to the rank tracker to track the rank of your website for particular keywords, or you can export them to the domain module to search for available domains.
3. SEO Competition Module -
The SEO Competition module gives a very indepth overview of the top 10 websites ranking in Google for a particular keyword. The analysis is very indepth, and looks over the various factors that can affect your search engine rankings, both on page and off page.
Off page factors that are assessed include domain age, page rank, Google index count, page backlinks, domain backlinks, .edu and .gov backlinks, and DMOZ and Yahoo directory entries. The on page factors include keyword in title, keyword in URL, keyword in description, keyword in header tag, and the Google cache age. All of these various factors help to assess the competitiveness of a niche.
In general, more competitive factor values will be colored in red and orange, while less competitive results will be colored green for a quick overview to let you know if it is easy or hard to target a particular niche.
Apart from being able to see how strong a particular competitor is, you will also be able to see why he is so strong. For each of the results obtained, you will be able to analyze each site for the number of backlinks they have to a particular page, exactly where those backlinks are coming from, and the anchor text used for those backlinks.
This is very useful in a number of ways. Firstly, you will be able to asses the quality of the backlinks a competitor has and not just the quality. Thus, you will be able to see if your competitor has high PR back links to their site, or just using low PR backlinks was enough for them. Secondly, you will be able to find out exactly where they got their backlinks from and get your back links from the exact same sites!
Furthermore, this module allows you to get Whois information, Quantcast information, and Alexa information for each of the competitor's sites.
4. Domains Module -
This module will allow you to uncover high-quality, keyword optimized domains you can use to build your website from. You can even discover domains from existing sites that are for sale, and so get more power in your campaigns.
It is a really powerful module for finding new domain names for yourself, and you can even filter or vary domains based on specified alternatives. For example, you may only want .com domains, so you will be able to filter by that. Or you may want domains that end with the word blog, and so you can do that as well.
Once you have found the domains that you want, you will be able to buy or check those domains directly.
In order to find aged domain names though, you will have to sign up for a free Domain Face account or download Domain Samurai for free as well.
This module is really powerful as a good keyword-optimized domain can mean the difference between good and bad rankings. Yes, you can rank well with poor keyword-optimized domains. However, it takes a lot more work than you would need to.
5. Monetization Module -
The Monetization Module is another very powerful module that helps you to monetize your sites. What it basically does is to help you find products from your affiliate program, including Clickbank, Amazon, Commission Junction, or PayDotCom, that meet your specifications, and helps you to create ads for those products instantly.
Products can be sorted by keywords, prices, location, commission, gravity, and other criteria. You can even specify to find recurring products or non-recurring products.
You will be able to easily manage your affiliate program accounts within this module, so there is no need to worry about finding your affiliate link and adding your account ID to it. Market Samurai does it all for you.

The keyword research module is great, and gives a ton of keyword variations. However, just that software such as Keyword Elite 2.0 has more and will give you keywords that you would normally overlook, as it draws related keywords from a larger number of sources, as well as its own database.
But in terms of SEO-related functionality, Market Samurai is still much better than in terms of that, like being able to promote and create content quickly and easily. In a sense, Market Samurai can be considered as a full SEO suite.
Another negative aspect about Market Samurai is that it provides a very in-depth SEO Competition module. However, you have to look through the competition matrix it gives you for each keyword you are researching one by one. This would be very time consuming if you are looking through hundreds of keywords in order to find the easiest to target.
Other keyword research software, such as Keyword Elite 2.0 and Micro Niche Finder, enable you to see the competitiveness of a keyword instantly, as they have built-in algorithms to calculate it for you and output a number to indicate the difficulty. This would be more ideal for people who are going through a lot of keywords in order to find the best ones.
